Str8 Sh00ter is a 4-song EP from Bent Shapes drummer, Andy Sadoway. Sadoway’s comfort with syncopated rhythm and knack for hooks is the foundation to his songwriting. Catchy melody drives everything: on his debut release he draws influence from his favorite 60’s pop legends Roy Orbison and Neil Sedaka, with nods to early crooners like Johnny Mathis and Eddy Arnold.
Living in a time full of distraction and short attention spans, where self-importance is the key to success, Sadoway is tired. Did you picture yourself working your current job rather than the dream you were meant to pursue? How much time in the week do you dedicate to the people you love? More importantly, how much time do you dedicate to the people you hate? With a deadpan vocal delivery laid atop jazzy chord movements, Sadoway makes us wonder if, despite feeling defeat when attempting to answer these questions, it all might work out in the end.
